The growing world of women's football is full of inspiring stories and role models. Girls United’s Play Like a Girl event series was created so we can hear from those who have paved the way before us and support those who are storming through the barriers. Visibility is key to create a level playing field. The on and off-pitch events seek to give girls and women the opportunity to discover their path into football and gain real-life skills they can take away and into their communities to create long-lasting impact.
We’ve been joined by female World Cup coaches, sports media broadcasters, pro-club players, World Cup captains, and creatives for Nike and Adidas. And the series is not over yet, the penultimate event coming up this Saturday is a panel discussion on Creating Space for Women in Football.
On the panel are important female voices from the football industry, Kait Borsay, Cassie Whittell, Abbie McCarthy and Natasha Chahal. They will be discussing what it means to be a woman in football, their experiences and what opportunities are out there for the next generation.
